About

WordCamp Sacramento is a volunteer-run conference centered around WordPress, the free and open-source software, powering approximately 33% of the internet and more than 75 million websites around the world, and this year we are embracing our community of WordCampers.

WordCamp Sacramento (#wcsac) believes our community should be truly open for everyone. As such, we are committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, religion, preferred operating system, programming language, or text editor. (Code of Conduct)

In its fifth year, WordCamp Sacramento 2019 will be held September 21-22, 2019 at The Falls Event Center.

We are thrilled to include:

  • Two full days of Beginner Tracks, walking new users through how to use WordPress and how to leverage their site for better results.
  • Two mixed tracks of sessions on Saturday and Sunday, including a speed networking session.
  • A Happiness Bar — our version of a help desk, open throughout the event so you can get help with your WordPress site and get your questions answered.
  • An opportunity to network with and meet sponsors, speakers, and other WordPress community members, including business owners, designers, developers, agency owners, bloggers, copywriters, freelancers, site owners, and more.
  • Refreshing drinks and coffee throughout the entire event.
  • An awesome WordCamp Sacramento 2019 branded coffee mug.
  • A delicious catered lunch on Saturday.
  • A networking reception Saturday immediately following the event to relax, unwind, celebrate WordPress, and continue conversations from the day.
  • An array of afternoon snacks on Sunday.

WordCamp is attended by designers, developers, business owners, bloggers, copywriters, consultants, hobbyists, employees who use WordPress as part of their job, and anyone else who uses WordPress in any way. Attendees range from the novice who is brand new to WordPress, to the savvy WordPress power user, to advanced designers and developers who make their living with WordPress.

We invite you to come and welcome you to be a part of it.

Tickets

In 2015, our inaugural event sold out all 150 tickets in only two hours. In 2016, we released 300 tickets in three batches, with each batch of tickets selling out in 24 hours or less. In 2017, the event sold over 500 tickets. For 2018, the event also sold around 500 tickets.

For 2019, WordCamp has moved to a new stunning, modern event venue and we’re expecting to sell out all 500 tickets quickly.

Sponsors

Along with a large event and large venue, we have a large cost. WordCamp Sacramento is a volunteer-run, community event (no one gets paid in anyway to put on this event) that wouldn’t be possible without the support from generous sponsors. We’ve created sponsorship levels to fit every budget, so no matter what size budget you have, you can join in and show your support for WordCamp and our local Sacramento WordPress community.

Volunteers

Like all WordCamps, WordCamp Sacramento is planned, organized, and run by volunteers from our local WordPress community — and a critical part of making WordCamp Sacramento a success is our day of event volunteers — and we need your help! As a volunteer, you’ll help our event run smoothly, make sure our attendees have a great time, and bolster our local WordPress community. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to meet more people in the community, deepen relationships, and give back to the open source software we all use and love.

There are limited volunteer positions available, as a result, everyone who applies to volunteer may not receive a volunteer role.

Speakers

It’s our mission to have WordCamp Sacramento represent the passion, talent, and diversity of our community, and we want you to be a part of it! We looking for speakers to share their knowledge, skill, experience, and stories with our welcoming community at WordCamp Sacramento.

We do not require you to be famous, or expert, or a developer, or specifically credentialed, or anything like that. If you haven’t spoken at a conference before, don’t let that hold you back! All we ask is that you be able to present your chosen topic passionately and respectfully.

An Inclusive Event

Our Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for participant behavior as well as the consequences for unacceptable behavior. We invite all sponsors, volunteers, speakers, attendees, and other participants to help us realize a safe and positive conference experience for everyone.
