Speaker Q&A With Jonathan
Why do you think local development with Vagrant & VVV is important?
I think it’s important for WordPress developer to develop on their local machine in a sandboxed environment so they don’t “Junk up” their local machine. Vagrant is an easy way to easily setup and run virtual machines with development environments that will more closely or exactly match your production environment.
What is your history or experience with local development with Vagrant & VVV?
I’ve been developing with WordPress since 2007. I started developing with my local machine, installing PHP, MySQL & Apache on OSX. Then I moved on to MAMP & MAMP Pro. Until I discovered Vagrant & VVV.
How did you get started with WordPress? Why WordPress?
I started with WordPress while working as a graphic & web designer at a small design agency in Marysville. I was looking for an easy way for my clients to update their own content. Turned out it just made it easier for me to update their content for them.
