Discover Gold Of Your Own
The discovery of gold in 1848 sparked the largest mass migration in U.S. history, with more than 300,000 pioneers heading west. Likewise, the discovery of WordPress over the last several years has sparked one of the largest movements online to a single content management system and publishing platform, with more than 75 million sites on the web now powered by WordPress.
Recently named one of America’s fastest growing visitor destinations, Sacramento is California’s state capital and the gateway to the Gold Country.
The discovery of gold at Sutter’s Mill brought thousands of hopeful pioneers to California in search of a better life. From the settlement town of Old Sacramento, to the supply center and trade post of Sutter’s Fort, the Sacramento region is rich in Gold Rush History.
We invite you to to join us for WordCamp Sacramento 2016, your gateway to learning more about WordPress, doing more with WordPress, and getting to know more people in your local community who work with WordPress.
This open source software has brought people together across the world through Meetups and WordCamps. The discovery of WordCamp Sacramento brought more than 200 WordPressers together in 2015 for learning, networking, and fun. With sessions focused on development and design, content and business, and tools and resources, you’re practically guaranteed to hit the Mother Lode.
And who knows, with a theme of Discovery, WordCamp Sacramento may be your pay dirt, helping you discover some valuable gold nuggets of your own.
Event Details
WordCamp Sacramento is happening October 22-23, 2016 at the Harper Alumni Center at Sacramento State University.
- Saturday will begin with Opening remarks at 8:40 am. Sessions will run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with a full catered lunch. The after party is from 5:00 pm to 6:45 pm directly following the event at the same venue.
- Sunday begins at 12:00 pm and runs until 5:00 pm — this way you can attend the after party, do dinner, or stay out late and still make it to WordCamp on time, or you can still make it to morning church services! Just make sure you eat lunch first.
Like all WordCamps, WordCamp Sacramento is a casual, locally-organized conference covering everything related to WordPress, the free and open source publishing software that powers more than 25% of the internet.
- WordCamp is attended by designers, developers, business owners, bloggers, copywriters, consultants, hobbyists, employees who use WordPress as part of their job, and anyone else who uses WordPress in any way.
- Attendees range from the novice who is brand new to WordPress, to the savvy WordPress power user, to advanced designers and developers who make their living with WordPress.
- WordCamp Sacramento 2016 will accommodate 350 attendees, more than double the number of tickets available in 2015.
As active members of the local WordPress community and business community, the 2016 organizing team is excited to bring WordCamp back to Sacramento, California’s capitol city, for the second year!
Tickets
After tickets sold out in just over two hours in 2015, we knew we had to make a change. So For 2016, WordCamp Sacramento has moved to a larger venue and expanded to a two-day conference.
The Harper Alumni Center at Sacramento State University accommodates up to 350 guests. This year tickets will be released in stages instead of all at once — the third and final round of tickets will go on sale Wednesday, September 21, at 12:00 pm (noon).
