The First Round Of Tickets Is Sold Out
If you snagged yourself a ticket to WordCamp Sacramento, CONGRATULATIONS! We’re so happy you’ll be joining us for a fantastic event!
The first round of WordCamp Sacramento tickets sold out in only 44 minutes. In 2015 it took us just over two hours to sell 150 tickets, so while we knew tickets would sell out, we had no idea they would go so quickly!
This is my first time as lead organizer for WordCamp and we’re all volunteers donating our time to make this event happen. We’re not event planning professionals who do this all the time, so this was pretty exciting to watch…
- 10:00 am: tickets sales opened with 150 tickets available
- 10:03 am: 100 tickets left
- 10:05 am: 86 tickets left
- 10:10 am: 65 tickets left
- 10:15 am: 40 tickets left
- 10:20 am: 26 tickets left
- 10:30 am: 10 tickets left
- 10:40 am: 1 ticket left
- 10:44 am: tickets were sold out
Phew! You all came out in full force to get your tickets and with this year’s event bigger and better, we can’t wait for you to experience it!
Why Release Tickets In Batches
Last year we released all tickets at the same time and they were sold out so fast that those with day jobs, scheduling conflicts, previously scheduled meetings, vacations, etc. were unable to get a ticket. They didn’t just forget. They physically couldn’t be at a computer to purchase a ticket.
To make tickets as accessible as possible for the entire Sacramento WordPress community, we decided to release tickets in batches for this event. By releasing tickets on different days of the week and at different times of day, our whole community will have opportunities to purchase tickets.
The Second Round Of Tickets
The second round of tickets for WordCamp Sacramento will go for sale on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 6:00 pm.
For those of you who were unable to get your ticket today:
- Bookmark the Tickets Page
- Save the date — Wednesday, September 7 — and mark your calendar.
- Set a reminder for 5:50 pm, 10 minutes before tickets go on sale so you can get in front of your computer.
- Set a reminder for 6:00 pm, so you don’t get busy checking email or clicking around social media and forget to buy your ticket.
It’s great when your event tickets sales go well! Congratulations! Hopefully, I will get some on the second round!
