After about eight years, he realized that his heart wasn&#8217;t in it, and decided to pursue a career in programming. He has now been in web development for about two years, working on projects ranging from simple static sites to more complex web applications with a variety of integrations. He is currently a web developer for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pagedesigngroup.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Page Design Group<\/a> in Sacramento, CA.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We\u2019re thrilled Treighton will be speaking at WordCamp Sacramento 2016 on WordPress And Git!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Speaker Q&amp;A With Treighton<\/h2>\n<p>To help you learn even more about Treighton, we asked him to answer a few questions for us, some WordPress-related, and some others we think you&#8217;ll appreciate \ud83d\ude42 Be sure to give him a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Treighton1988\" target=\"_blank\">shout out on Twitter<\/a> and don\u2019t forget to use our hashtag <strong>#wcsac<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>What inspired you to give this talk at WordCamp?<\/h3>\n<p>I was inspired to give a presentation based on a desire to become more active in the local WordPress community, as well as having gone through the process of convincing multiple agencies to adopt a version control process using git to great success.<\/p>\n<h3>How did you discover WordPress?<\/h3>\n<p>I discovered WordPress early in my professional career as a developer through working as a freelancer to many agencies that primarily used WordPress to build custom websites and applications.<\/p>\n<h3>How has WordPress Or WordCamp impacted you?<\/h3>\n<p>I have never been to a WordCamp, but WordPress provided me with a great entry point into the development world with room to grow my skills on both the front and backend of a site.<\/p>\n<h3>How do you primarily work with WordPress?<\/h3>\n<p>I currently work at an agency that uses WordPress for the majority of sites and applications that we build. My role with WordPress is primarily building custom plugins and extending functionality.<\/p>\n<h3>What does the WordCamp theme Discovery mean to you?<\/h3>\n<p>To me this is very relevant to how I feel as I dig deeper into using WordPress more as a web application framework. Everyday I discover something new that I can make WordPress do to create a better product and experience for our clients.<\/p>\n<h3>What is the latest book you read?<\/h3>\n<p><em>Mastering Predictive Analytics with R<\/em> by Rui Miguel Forte.<\/p>\n<h3>What is your favorite restaurant?
