He now provides consulting and assistance for companies looking to scale and be secure on the web.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n WordPress Beginner Track: The Dashboard<\/p>\n When I setup my first VPS at the company I was working at, I wanted to test my knowledge of a LAMP stack. I bought a domain and started writing a basic PHP site from scratch. I had some basic features working when someone asked if I was trying to re-write “WordPress”. After some initial grumping, I tested out WordPress 2.5. And that was it; from that point on, I was hooked on WordPress.<\/p>\n WordPress gave me a platform to work on websites so much quicker. The ability to add functionality by adding plugins, or even extending functionality by writing plugins is invaluable.<\/p>\n WordPress is involved in easily 85% of my career and business life, so it is a significant part of my livelihood.
