Nate discovered his love of building for the web while enrolled as a music student at Missouri Southern State University, starting with front-end development and later WordPress.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Benefits of Writing Vanilla JavaScript<\/p>\n I submitted this talk because using anything other than jQuery is sometimes difficult for me. I want to show others that there are many tasks that can be completed using vanilla JavaScript very easily, with performance benefits. I want to share some first steps in learning JavaScript deeply.<\/p>\n I discovered WordPress after building hobby sites and sites for friends using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. A friend and mentor started talking to me about WordPress, and I decided to check it out and I never looked back!<\/p>\n I do everything from theme development, plugin development, general maintenance, and even page builder customizations.<\/p>\n WordPress has changed my life. The WordPress community is extremely warm and welcoming .
