Food Trucks, Lunch, And Options

With the return of WordCamp Sacramento comes another delicious lunch opportunity. We’ve been blessed the last couple of years with yummy food trucks that offer a variety of options and customizations for most diets.

This year the food trucks are back and because we’re at a new venue, they can park right outside, which means no walking several blocks to the park for lunch!

What You Need To Know

WordCamp Sacramento will have four food trucks serving you, each with multiple lunch selections. Below you’ll find the menus for each truck, so you can review the options, consider any customizations you may require, and identify what will work best for you.

Before you review the food truck menus, please note that each lunch selection with available customizations will be labeled:

  • vg = vegetarian option available
  • v = vegan option available
  • gf = gluten free option
  • df = dairy free option

This means that an item with the labels “gf, df” can be made gluten-free and/or dairy-free with customizations.

“Always in motion is the future,” warns Yoda when talking to Luke Skywalker on Dagobah Empire Strikes Back. It’s the perfect advise too because the future is always changing—especially in open-source software.

Speaker Announcement Round 4 For WordCamp Sacramento 2019

In Return of the Jedi, Yoda says to Luke Skywalker, “When gone am I, the last of the Jedi will you be. The Force runs strong in your family. Pass on what you have learned.” And this got us thinking…

While some people may work with WordPress for their entire career, others may work with WordPress, get involved in the community, and even speak at events like WordCamp for a short time. No matter what your level of involvement in the open-source project is, one thing is for certain: The power of WordPress is strong. It runs throughout the community and many of us are happy to pass on what we have learned and help those around us succeed.

This sentiment is especially true for our fabulous WordCamp speakers who volunteer their time (and pay their own way) to create and deliver valuable presentations for you.

In this post, we’re introducing you to our fourth round of WordCamp Speakers:

Speaker Announcement Round 3 For WordCamp Sacramento 2019

As Obi-Wan Kenobi says, “In my experience there is no such thing as luck.” That’s why we leave nothing to chance when planning WordCamp Sacramento. We hand-craft the Beginner Track curriculum, find speakers and create sessions on topics you specifically asked for, and invite our community to apply to speak.

Securing speakers is one of the hardest parts of organizing a WordCamp—public speaking is the number one, biggest fear after all—but this year we received awesome applications and we’re confident that when we publish the schedule, you’ll be just as excited as we are.

For now though, get to know our second round of awesome speakers:

Speaker Announcement Round 2 For WordCamp Sacramento 2019

Just as Leia Organa relied on Obi-Wan Kenobi, saying, “Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You’re my only hope,” we rely on speakers to volunteer their time and craft presentations that educate and entertain. We also rely on new people joining the WordPress community and getting involved to continue the project for years to come.

With this in mind, the organizing team is thrilled to bring you another round of speaker announcements today, with one of our speakers clocking in at only 13 years old!
