We’re thrilled to have Christina onboard as a speaker at WordCamp Sacramento 2018 asked a few questions to help you get to know more about her. Check out our mini interview with Cristina below:
What is the topic of your WordCamp talk?
Optimizing The WordPress Admin For Users
Why do you think this is important?
As designers and developers who work with WordPress daily, we forget how daunting it can be for a first-time user such as our clients. Giving our clients a functioning website is only part of the experience. I believe it’s super important to enhance the experience for the user(s) managing the site. Not only are you future-proofing your site and lessening emails/phone calls, but you’ll be empowering your client to have a better understanding (and appreciation) of the system you’ve created for them.
What’s your WordPress origin story?
In 2006, I was using a different CMS for my site; yet, its spam management (or lack thereof) was terrible! I’d heard about WordPress before, but it was intimidating. Knowing I needed another option, I forced myself to learn WordPress, and ever since it’s been my go-to CMS!
How has WordPress impacted your world?
Both my job and my hobby involve design and development for WordPress. It’s a big part of helping me keep my skills fresh! It’s also allowed me to connect with an amazing community of users online and at WordCamps.
