Everyone, Join Us For The WordCamp Sacramento After Party

River City Saloon WordCamp Sacramento After Party

It just wouldn’t be a WordCamp without an after party to celebrate the day — and trust me, you don’t want to miss it!

The after party is a great place to continue conversations from the day, get to know others in our local WordPress community better, start or strengthen some new relationships, and kick back and relax after a day of learning. Here’s the best part:

Whether you have a ticket to WordCamp or not, YOU can join us for the after party.

WordCamp Attendees

Kudos to you for snagging a coveted ticket to WordCamp Sacramento 2015 — they flew out of the cart like hotcakes!

Included in your WordCamp ticket is the after party, held at the River City Saloon in Old Town Sacramento. Heather Hogan, part of your WordCamp organizing team, did a great job planning both the private speaker dinner on Friday night and the WordCamp after party.

The benefit of being a WordCamp ticket holder and official attendee is that we’ll have drink tickets just for you! It’s our way to say thanks for showing up and taking part in making the day great.

Sacramento WordPress Community

If you weren’t able to get a ticket to WordCamp Sacramento 2015, we’re so sorry! We promise we’re already looking into a bigger venue for next year.

The good news is that you can watch the Advanced/Developer Track via Livestream and still be part of the event. Plus, because the River City Saloon will still be open to the public during the after party, you can come on down to Old Town Sacramento and join us for the after party to show your love for WordPress, and get your mingling and networking on!

We would love to see you there!

The After Party Details

WordCamp Sacramento 2015 officially ends at 5:45 pm, giving you time to grab dinner with your old and new WordPress friends, before the after party begins at 7:00 pm.

Here are the location details:

We’ll have limited drink tickets for WordCamp attendees. And, if you didn’t get enough to eat at dinner, you’re welcome to order food as the full River City Saloon menu — appetizers, deli style sandwiches and Old West Sarsaparilla — is available until closing time. We just won’t be buying your food.

About the River City Saloon

Located in the historic Old Sacramento district, the River City Saloon building once held one of Sacramento’s original houses of ill repute before becoming Parker French’s Saloon in 1871. It was owned by Mr. Parker French, a colorful Old Sacramento Newspaper man that wanted a fun place to go after work.

This saloon was known as an unruly place at times, with many stories of people being Shanghaied and taken out to sea have been heard. During Prohibition, the saloon was continually raided, as it insisted it was only serving Sarsaparilla and alcohol for medicinal reasons.

In the 1960s, Old Sacramento and the saloon had fallen to hard times as the area had become the worst skid row west of the Mississippi. In 2007, the saloon was remodeled to its original grandeur and renamed the River City Saloon. The bar is a 1905 Triple Arch Brunswick just like the one that stood here in 1871. It was originally in a New York hotel that was demolished and then salvaged by Red Barron Antiques in Atlanta. The beautiful flocked wall paper is almost dead on for what donned the original place and the sawdust and peanut shells represent what was originally used in many saloons to keep the dirt down as many saloons had dirt floors.

At night the saloon comes alive for the 21 and over crowd with billiard tables, dancing and features Live Music on Thursday Nights, Karaoke and top 40 video music on weekends and other forms of entertainment thru-out the week.
