WordCamp Sacramento Via LiveStream, Oh Yeah Baby!

WordCamp Sacramento Livestream

Many of You Didn’t Get a WordCamp Ticket, And That Made Us Sad :(

The WordCamp Sacramento organizing team knew that this event would sell out. with a thriving WordPress meetup community, 25-40+ attending the meetups every month, and no other northern California WordCamps happening this year — how could it not?

Earlier this year, we spent months trying to secure a bigger location for a possible WordCamp Sacramento. Hours and hours of time went into phone calls, research, and meetings. But as a first year event, it was tough.

So when the Art Institute of California — Sacramento stepped up to donate their venue for WordCamp we were elated.

We knew the venue could only accommodate 150-175 people, and that was okay because it IS our first year, it is volunteer-run, most organizers have never hosted an event before, and we really want to make sure it’s a great experience.

What we didn’t expect is how many people wanted tickets to WordCamp Sacramento

You guys came out in droves!

Who knew Sacramento had so many WordPress enthusiasts, users, consultants, bloggers, freelancers, agency owners, designers, and developers! While that is exciting (and we hope to see you all at the meetups too), it also means that there are A LOT of you who were unable to get tickets as we sold out in just over two hours.

We know you’re disappointed :(

You’re letting us know through our contact form, email, Twitter direct messages, and Facebook messages — and we want you to know that we hear you loud and clear.

LiveStream to The Rescue!

While we can’t magically make the venue larger, and we can’t squeeze any more people into the actual room, we can do the next best thing.

We can make the entire Advanced/Developer Track available via LiveStream. That’s right, now (with a free Livestream account) you can watch from the comfort of your own home, on your computer, or even your phone every one of the sessions in the Advanced/Developer Track — FOR FREE!

Advanced Track Livestream For WordCamp Sacramento
WATCH THE ADVANCED TRACK LIVESTREAM

We know it’s not the same as being there live, chatting up the speakers, networking with other attendees, hanging out at lunch, or snagging your own t-shirt … but hey, now you can learn, see what WordCamp is like, and even join in the event banter on Twitter (#wcsac).

The Beginner/User Track will not be available via LiveStream.

All Sessions Will Be Recorded

Now that schedules for the Beginner/User Track and the Advanced/Developer Track are posted we’re already hearing from several of you that you can’t decide which sessions to go to because you want to see talks in BOTH tracks.

No Problem! All sessions in the Beginner/User Track and the Advanced/Developer Track will be video recorded and submitted to WordPress.tv, so you can attend one session, and watch the one you missed later.

Like WordCamp, WordPress.tv is managed by volunteers who review and process videos in their off hours. And, with almost 100 WordCamps happening this year, there can sometimes be a backlog — that is A LOT of video to process! Please understand that it may take a while for the videos to become available on WordPress.tv, but they will be there eventually.

    • John — I’d post the offer to Twitter ASAP and use the event hastag #wcsac … Name Badges go to print tomorrow, so if you get it done today, they’ll get a name badge and whatever t-shirt size you ordered.
